Temporary Seats

HOME Park’s Mayflower terrace will be home for the next generation of Argyle’s Green Army in Saturday’s Devon Expressway Derby.
Temporary seating installed for last month’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Liverpool is staying for the Sky Bet League Two visit of Exeter City.

However, some of the Mayflower seats have been removed following consultation with supporters who suffered restricted views during the cup game, and tickets for the terrace will be restricted.

In his regular bi-weekly column for the Plymouth Herald, Argyle chief executive Martyn Starnes revealed that Argyle had decided to sell tickets for the stand to young supporters allied to the club’s Community Trust. Other seats will be occupied by fans who need to be migrated from other areas of Home Park.

Martyn said: “The temporary seats, installed at a significant net cost to the club and enabling an additional 1,600 or so fans to watch the Liverpool game, will still be in place on Saturday.

“However, given the unintended and unforeseen consequences of impaired sight lines, and following consultation with supporters and our partners on the Safety Advisory Group, we have significantly reduced the capacity in those seats for the Exeter match.

“The tickets we have made available in that area have been mainly sold to junior members of groups associated with our Community Trust.”

It will be the last time that any supporters will be able to use the Mayflower seating.

“We are now planning to remove the temporary seats and this will be undertaken next week,” said Martyn.

“We’re not yet able to confirm whether this will be achieved before or after the match on Tuesday night against Leyton Orient. This is going to be subject to the availability of the contractor.”

UPDATE REGARDING FA CUP TIES V LIVERPOOL

PADSA met with Plymouth Argyle Football Club on Tuesday 7th February. The latest situation regarding feedback given for the cup fixtures against Liverpool is as follows:-

The Club have commissioned a report to be compiled of all the feedback received from supporters, both positive and negative. Once complete this report, and its recommendations, will be discussed by the Board of Directors and an action plan will be compiled. The Club has then said that the report, recommendations and action plan will be published in full. Whilst no exact date was given for this it was apparent that the Club are looking to get this done as quickly as possible.

PADSA are content with this response and will carefully review the report and its findings when published. We will then be in a clearer position to consider our response, if necessary, on behalf of our members. The Level Playing Field organisation have been kept constantly updated on the process and have been in contact with the Club on our behalf. They will also await the publication of the report.

Liverpool Feedback

A MESSAGE from Argyle Chairman, James Brent.

WEDNESDAY night’s Emirates FA Cup match against Liverpool and the game at Anfield were ‎memorable experiences for those who could attend in person and for those who watched on television and listened to Argyle Player or the radio.

Derek, his coaching staff and team made us all proud – their performance was matched only by that of the Green Army, which was immense on both occasions.

To make these days successful, considerable effort and commitment was needed beyond the team and coaching staff, however. The efforts of all our staff, across all departments, were humbling and the Argyle Board of Directors is incredibly grateful to them, also. To safely arrange, install and sell an extra 2,000 seats in three working days, for example, was incredible.

However, we are a club that wants to continuously improve and end each day better than we started. The Green Army is what we are about and we would really appreciate your feedback. This will then be analysed and a report presented to the Board. We will publish what we have learned, where we did well, and where we feel we can do even better.

To inform us and help us improve, we would be grateful if you could send, to argyle@pafc.co.uk, your thoughts on:

• What went well?
• What would have been even better if?

Please put ‘Well/Better if’ in the subject line of your email.

Many thanks for your continued support.

James Brent
Chairman

PADSA Statement

It is clear that there are many issues raised regarding the Liverpool game on Wednesday night. These issues concern the restricted viewing from the disabled stand created by the temporary seating put in under the grandstand. We (PADSA) have made the club aware of our disappointment, anger, and disbelief that this could happen. There was no prior knowledge that there might be an issue. Many people in the disabled stand left in disgust and went home to watch the game on TV. We (PADSA)had a meeting with a club official this morning and all our concerns/complaints were put forward. It is my view (Chairman) that it is now up to the Club to respond to these issues and it will be a sign of the clubs stance on its Disabled supporters and its intentions for the future. As a group we know what response we would like to see however the ball is firmly in the clubs court so Argyle don’t squander the chance to do the right thing we await your response.

Wheelchair spaces will be for those who require this.
Any wheelchair users need to advise the club if they wish to travel by coach we are waiting clarification if this means those who can transfer from a wheelchair to a seat or if accessible travel will be available. Coach travel is £40 and needs to be paid for in cash or cheque. Time to be confirmed of leaving around 5am.
Tickets are available on boxing day from 9am. If you are going or need assistance there will be stewards who will assist you.
I am hoping tomorrow to be able to sort out a better way for the disabled to get tickets. Rick Cowdery who is temporary DLO is aware of the all issues arising from the issues we are facing from ourselves . We are disappointed as we have bought up this issue time and time again and are looking to get a better way to sort out the ticketing issuing.
He can be contacted rick.cowdery@pafc.co.uk
